Sun, Sea and Sand, nothing screams summer more. George was briefed with delivering a Mediterranean coastal getaway vibe in the window displays at OKA’s flagship store in the heart of Chelsea in 2013.  The aim was simple, to use retail theatre to create and buzz and drive awareness around OKA’s sparkling new summer collection.  Love beach house interiors? You don't need to live anywhere near the sea to recreate those laid back, coastal vibes.

Drawing inspiration from the sunny coastal towns of the Med, the beach house window display was achieved by layering up lots of different fabrics and materials. Rugs, cushions, baskets and wall hangings were all incorporated to bring the beach to the heart of Chelsea with a coastal inspired window, just what was needed on a typical dreary, grey day in London.  The classic summer combination of blue and white across china, glassware and maritime cushions created depth and pattern. Whilst the back of the window display was painted in a striped nautical reference, driftwood accessories were added, helping define this beach hut vision. 

The floors were layered with sand and George even constructed a palm tree, which acted as a central feature for this scheme. Dressing the outdoor tables with an abundance of tableware to create that archetypal chilled nautical atmosphere. The brief was successful, inspiring customers on the essentials required to refit their homes to host a parade of visitors during endless summer parties.
