As a key part of the display team, one of George’s many responsibilities within the ‘bricks-and-mortar’ Piccadilly store was to convey the festive season across the homeware and entertaining department. Located on the first floor, the entrance space served as a first point of contact and a focal point to launch a new product, collaboration or to introduce the store scheme.
The Spode festive range, introduced in 1938 and much loved for its nostalgia, with inviting recollections of Christmases past, was to be the key feature in the vision for the area during 2021. George set about bringing these traditional dining pieces alive within a contemporary setting - sourcing and upcycling previous store furniture to create a dreamscape table setting for eight lucky diners. A ceiling treatment was also crafted from festive foliage to add that finishing touch.
