It was all hands on deck within the creative department, with the designers sometimes working 16-hour shifts, to turn their concepts into reality, ensuring everything was ready for the season with visually stunning displays commensurate with retailer’s standing. George's responsibilities as a senior visual merchandiser for Selfridge’s Home, Lifestyle and Food departments included creating concepts and visual installations that represent the Christmas campaign's narrative throughout the store, especially in the food halls.
George decorated the food hall with over 4,000 handmade paper chains, with the refrigerated counter tops lined with luxury hampers oozing mouth-watering desserts from traditional Christmas cake and puddings to chocolate boxes and biscuits. Afterall, the most wonderful time of the year deserves some equally delightful treats. The walkways featured swinging garlands and exploding Christmas crackers, with confetti bursting out in the brand’s signature yellow colour.
