As an Interior Stylist and Visual Merchandiser for OKA, George’s role was to ensure the showrooms were immaculately always presented, whilst designing concepts that showcase the company’s products in a way that inspire customers to confidently create a dream home of their own.

Implementing effective visual merchandising strategy across stores is not only vital to drive customer engagement and maximise retail sales, it also provides an opportunity to coach retail staff members on executing and delivering brand expectations. This is even more important in the age of scrutiny driven by social media.

George’s overarching responsibility was to elevate the brand’s appearance, using his creative flair and industry knowhow.  This included continually updating and adjusting the visual standards and room sets to fit in with the seasons and interior trends, and to align with the company’s activity calendar, including new seasons, sales and Christmas.  George’s favourite aspect of this diverse job was to deploy his visual merchandising expertise in the window displays, giving him scope to conjure up innovative design concepts and showcase his creative talent.
