The kitchen is the soul of any home, whether its radiating comforting aromas of freshly baked bread, morning coffee before work or huddled over the kitchen table completing some last-minute homework over breakfast.

George was briefed with channelling the campaign’s aesthetic in store, creating an engaging visual space that would also highlight affordable Kitchen solutions in support of the message.  Opting for a classically Scandinavian approach, George created three-dimensional designs before installing the area and dressing with utensils such as pots and pans, a rolling pin, an apron, and cookie cutters.

Creating a sense of traditional value, warmth and life, George brought the whole project together from initial concept through to design and implementation, creating a sense of togetherness supplied by the act of baking.

In 2016, continuing the brands longstanding ‘Wonderful Everyday’ positioning, IKEA, everyone’s favourite Swedish flat packed furniture retailer, launched a new global campaign called “It Starts with the Food”.

 

Inspired by the significant proportion of customers who are principally ardent foodies, the message was about bringing family and friends together, sharing meals, making memories and enjoying life.  But what makes a home? Ask any generation and they will all agree that it has to be the kitchen. It’s where households and good food come together, and good times are made.
