George’s role at Barker and Stonehouse was to ensure the showrooms within his allocated region were consistent with the brand’s image and principles. This meant implementing new schemes and designing layouts as well as assisting with new builds and constantly updating the visual standards in accordance with the company’s busy schedule of activities throughout the year.
Maintaining an effective visual merchandising strategy across all stores has two overarching aims in mind – maximising sales and engendering customer loyalty. It also afforded George the opportunity to coach other members of staff within the Retail team on how to successfully execute these strategies.
Working alongside the head of creative, George would also construct visual packages and styling schemes designed to portray the upscale, yet affordable furniture offered by Barker and Stone.
