





Looking at its history, food has always been an integral part of Halloween, especially confectionary and sweets; the more the marrier! In the spirit of the season, George was tasked with producing a visual display for the Piccadilly corner window that would be spooktacular whilst showcasing Fortnum’s range of devilishly delicious treats. Fun aside, the aim ultimately was commercial, to increase footfall and obtaining a ‘trick or treat’ impulse sale.
Taking to Pinterest for inspiration. George’s attention was piqued by the tradition of pumpkin carving, with one carving in particular standing out, as it was humorously vomiting its own seeds. George sketched up designs before commissioning a production company to create a bespoke pumpkin prop. It stood at approximately 3ft high and was finished in a skull-shattering bright orange.
The pumpkin was dressed to replicate the inspirational image, however instead of seeds, the oversized jack-o'-lantern was spewing a host of ghostly treats, from poison truffles to marzipan skulls, to witching hour tipple and the iconic black hamper itself. Everything required for fright night full of celebrations. George added an artificial light, so the display remained ghoulishly impactful at night. The display provided a theatrical insight into the brands unique products, and was highly shared on social media platforms, leaving monsters of all ages screaming for more
