Sights Of
A Geisha

Inspired by Asian culture, in particular Japanese culture and the Geisha tradition, the collection consists of pieces including millinery pieces and masks made from a variety of materials such as acrylic, natural fabrics, metal, chains and leather. Jenkins has always been inspired and intrigued by oriental culture admiring the richness of their traditions and design practices, such as their use of colour, interior design, patterns, architecture etc.

He was particularly inspired by their ability to mix the traditional into contemporary culture and used this as a basis for his designs for the collection, mixing an Eastern palette and aesthetic with western materials and an undercurrent of sexual power to create pieces which are simultaneously glamorous, feminine, and strong yet present a sense of fragility and sophisticated beauty.
