As a home, lifestyle and food senior visual merchandiser for Selfridges, my role involved developing concepts to visually express or showcase the featured, theme or brand chosen by head office or the department manager.
As part of the ‘Year of Mexico’ 2015 UK celebrations, modern Mexican gastronomy was the adorned theme. My job was to create the atmosphere of A taste of Mexico within the Selfridges Food hall.
Effectively managing the food halls low project budget was to be considered when
designing a concept for the department. I sourced old oil containers online, later
spraying them gloss black and having vinyl letters created. I decked the halls with string
bulb lights and accessorised with terracotta pots and cacti to embody the signature of
rustic “Mec eh co”
